We look at different ways you can install you plasma TV and specifics for DIY installation. Plus all the do's and don'ts of Plasma TV installation.

What NOT to do during your Plasma TV installation

- do not lie the plasma tv / screen flat. Keep it upright at all times.

- ensure the plasma TV screen is insured for accidental damage.

- do not mount a plasma TV on plasterboard UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Plasterboard is not strong enough for a plasma TV. For plasterboard mounting use a smaller LCD TV.


Survey your Wall prior to installing your Plasma TV

- ensure your wall is either brick or concrete. Concrete is ideal, as the mounts will will work well in this situation. Using brick can make the bolts which hold the plasma TV move after installation. It can still work fine but is something you must be aware of.

- decide where to put your plasma TV cables. Using white tubing for your plasma TV cables is ideal.


Drill your Plasma TV holes

- mark your points for your plasma TV installation EXACTLY. Re-measure, re-measure and re-measure. Even make a cardboard cut-out of your plasma TV and use as a template to get it perfect. Once you've drilled the holes there may be no going back!

Start with a small pilot hole and then proceed to drill with the masonry drill to make the permanent hole. Mount the rear section of the backets on the wall.


Mount your plasma TV screen on the wall

- it's a 2 man job mounting a plasma tv screen - don't do it alone.

- slowly and surely, lower your plasma TV into place. Make sure the bolts are tight!

- you're all set, kick back and watch your plasma TV in comfort!
